Character runs versus one-shot drops

18 May 2026

An ongoing character run rewards knowing the last three printed issues. A one-shot drop rewards knowing whether you even like that artist’s faces. Mixing those homework types is how collectors sit through a listing for a run they dropped in 2018.

When the Marvel NFT comics page names a long-running title, pull the recent trade or the last floppies. When it names a holiday special or a single illustrated sequence, look at sample pages if the listing provides them, and decide on craft rather than continuity.

Circle nights at our office split the room when both types appear in the same month. The run readers talk continuity; the one-shot readers talk covers. Both groups still write a stay-or-pass sentence. The sentence is the product, not a group ranking of characters.
